 About the Opportunity: We have an opportunity for a Solution Manufacturing and Despatch Assistant at Sifco ASC, based in Bromsgrove, UK.

What will you do?

The Solution Manufacturing and Despatch Assistant will report to the Production Manager and where the objective is to support the team in maintaining accurate stock levels of both raw materials and finished goods and will be required to carry out chemical analysis and record keeping to Aerospace standards. To implement and manage an effective stock management system to ensure stock is easily located and old stock is rotated and if necessary marked for disposal.

  • Receiving goods in. Ensure goods are received in good condition and boxes reflect the paperwork supplied before signing receipt of delivery. Booking in all goods received. Ensure any discrepancies are notified to your manager. A non-conformance sheet must be completed for any discrepancies, full training will be given in line with our robust quality system.
  • Placing booked-in goods into the relevant stock locations within the stores area. With special attention being given to stock rotation, expiry dates and minimum stock level requirements
  • Packing of all customers orders as soon as a purchase order is generated. This will include the sourcing of goods from stock as required by the order, labelling of solution bottles to current regulations, producing packing lists, packing of customers goods, labelling of boxes in line with current regulations, preparing the order for despatch and ensuring the efficient despatch with the relevant courier. All the above is to be completed in line with the particular international requirements of the end customer or partner.
  • Monitoring of solution and consumable stocks. As items are picked from the stores, the stock levels are to be monitored. Any stocks which are depleting must be highlighted to the relevant personnel.
  • Maintain production, manufacturing, goods in/out and stores work area to a high standard of cleanliness. As a company we look not only to comply, but exceed current Health and Safety, Environmental and Industry requirements. We aim to ensure a safe and clean work environment for everyone.
  • Follow all company/group policies, departmental procedures and job specific work instructions.
  • Establish and maintain positive and professional customer relations when interacting with all SIFCO and group staff, customers and supplier representatives.
  • Load raw materials and DI water in mixing vessels for the manufacture of all plating, preparatory and anodising solutions.
  • Analyse completed solutions and make amendments to chemistry if required in line with current reporting procedures.
  • Affix stirring equipment and heating elements to mixing tanks and ensure proper manufacturing parameters are met. Set up filters and pumps to ensure the safe, hygienic bottling of solutions to the desired volume.
  • Support the Production Manager to ensure raw materials and containers are available for solution manufacturing. Provide feedback in order to manage sufficient levels of finished solutions and accessories.
  • Be available for relevant vocational training courses.
  • Any other reasonable duties

Qualifications / Experience

Essential:
  • GCSE education or equivalent
  • Full UK driving license
  • Ability to read and understand written safety procedures, work procedures and instruction manuals
Desirable:
  • Reach Forklift License
  • Chemistry knowledge / background
  • Experience in manual handling and Goods In/Out
  • Good level of mathematics ability
